Irene M. Ranschau 91, of Rock Valley died Friday, Dec 20, 2002 at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church in Rock Valley with Rev. Eugene Murray officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Irene Wyffels was born Fev. 27, 1911, in Rock Valley the daughter of Phillip and Julia (Minnaert) Wyffels. She attended and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Rock Valley.

She married Ted Ranschau Jan. 2, 1937 in Rock Valley. The couple farmed south of Rock Valley. Ted died Nov. 1 1980.

She was a charter member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and Ladies Guild. She also was a member of Hegg Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Charles and RuthAnne Ranschau of Sioux Center, Judith and Ron McLaughlin of Cedar Falls, and Roger and Jean Ranschau of Rock Valley, Susan and Bill Bryce of Pierson, IA. and David and Barbara Ranschau of Sioux Falls, S.D. 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Walcott of Sioux City.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters, Margaret, Edward, Loretta, John, Madelyn, Helen and Arlene.
