Word comes from Sioux Falls that Clement Saunders committed suicide by hanging himself Tuesday morning. About two years ago Saunders was employed by Mike Schroeder east of Alton about this sand pit and farm. On the fourth of July two years ago when Alton celebrated his was deputized as special police to help keep order on the street. When he left here he went to Minnesota stating that he was going to get a job teaming as that was his favorite employment being a big stout husky fellow.
He was employed by a teamster in Sioux Falls for the Val Blatz Brewing company and it was in their warehouse that he hanged himself to a rafter. It is upposed tht he was temporarily insane.
