H. Jess Hansen, of Lake City, father of Glenn W. Hansen of Hawarden, died last Thursday, September 28 after a long illness.

He was a long time resident of Lake City. He was born in Haderslav, Denmark, July 23, 1861, coming to Lake City in 1882 with his sister and father. For 35 years he operated a grocery store at Lake City. For many years he was a member of the Church of Christ, serving on the church board and served also as deacon.

Besides Glenn, he is survived by the widow, another son, Frank of Fairburn, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Nell Irish of Nevada, Iowa, and Mrs. Sue Mason of Camden, Arkansas, and a step-son, Dwight, of Atherton, California.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn attended the funeral at Woodlawn Church of Christ Sunday afternoon
