Funeral services for Marinus Ruys, 93, one of the oldest Hull residents who died at his home Saturday, were held Tuesday at the Christian Reformed Church there, with Rev. H. Van Deelen officiating. Burial was at the Hope Cemetery at Hull.

Mr. Ruys was born in Nunspeet province, Gelderland, The Netherlands, June 5, 1861, and came to the United States in 1882, settling first at Spring Lake, Michigan. Later the family moved to Prairie View, Kansas, and Mr. Ruys moved to Hull in 1917.

Mrs. Reintje (Van Beek) Ruys preceded him in death in 1929, and his eldest daughter, Mrs. C.B. Schaap died in 1950.

Mr. Ruys was a member of the Christian Reformed Church and served as an elder many years.

Surviving are the following children: Ernest of Sioux Center, Henry of Sioux Falls, Anthony and Anna of Hull, and Mrs. Paul Groeneweg of Rock Valley. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.
