Funeral services for Cornelius “Neal” Schalekamp, 83, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 31, at the First Reformed church. The Rev.R.VanHeukelom and the Rev, Robert Bast officiated. Burial was made In the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.
Rodney Kleinwolteriak, Robert Schalekamp, Arlin Schalekamp, D. T. Scofhorn, Charles E Brunsting and Gary J Kreykes were pallbearers. Mr. Schalekamp passed away Friday evening in the local hospital following a very short illness.

Death was due to a heart attack. He was born September 4, 1882 at Orange City and a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Schalekamp, He married Minnie
Van Roekel December 23, 1902 and the couple lived In the Orange City vicinity all their lives. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in 1965.

Survivors Include the widow; four sons, R. H. of Honduras, South America, William, Marion and Adrian of Orange City one daughter, Mrs. Peter Kleinwolterink also of Orange City. Thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Elizabeth Schalekamp who resides at the nursing wing of the Sioux Center Community hospital; Mrs. Merle McNutt of the Pioneer Home and Mrs. Gerrit Noteboom of Orange City also survive.

He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Leona in 1956; two brothers, Henry and Dick Schalekamp; three sisters, Mrs. M. Orton, Mrs. J. Van Wyk and Miss Cynthia Schalekamp and Mrs. H. De Jong,
