Patrick Charles Gehan died at his home near Hawarden Saturday night. He was laughing at a remark made by one of his children and ruptured a blood vessel.

Deceased was born in Wisconsin in 1861 and was a son of the late Plymouth county pioneers. He had been engaged in various mercantile lines at Hawarden and also in the stock buying business at Centerville SD. About eight years ago he moved to the farm where he died.

Deceased was married to Miss Mary Morrissey in 1889 and six children were born to them all of whom live to mourn with the mother. Deceased also leave a sister Mrs. Henry Harrison of Emmett SD and a brother John Gehan of Hawarden.
