John G. vande Vooren was born in The Netherlands July 31, 1887. He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth vande Vooren. The family moved to the USA and settled in Sioux Country, Iowa in 1888.

On October 13, 1911 he was united in marriage to Jennie Van Wyhe at Orange City, Iowa. In 1919 they moved to Lyon County.

Death came early Sunday morning, June 7, 1964 at his home in Lester, Iowa.

Services: June 10, 1964 at 1:30 p.m. in Jongewaard Chapel, Rock Rapids, Iowa
2:00 p.m. Methodist Church, Lester Iowa
Minister in charge was Rev. James Russell.

Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Lester, IA
