Mina DeSmet, 78, of Rock Valley, IA, died Sunday, February 3, 1991, at her home of an apparent heart attack.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Jim Demke officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Rock Valley with Porter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mina Christopherson was born June 17, 1912 in Norway Township, SD, the daughter of Olaf & Olena (Sorlie) Christopherson.

Mina married Peter DeSmet on December 10, 1946, at Canton, SD. Together they lived on a farm SW of Rock Valley until retirement in 1985 when they moved to Rock Valley.

Mina was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Marlene) Roduner of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Two brothers, Avil Christopherson of Hudson, SD, and Melvin Christopherson of Sioux Falls, SD. One sister, Bertha Fostvedt of Canton, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Gerald DeSmet and a sister, Mrs. John (Ovedia) Opland.
