Coba Feikema, 88, of Denver, Colorado, and formerly of Doon, died Wednesday, May 6, in Denver. Funeral services were at The Doon United Reformed Church in Doon this morning, Tuesday, at 11 A.M., the Rev. Tim Perkins officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Doon.

Mrs. Feikema was born to Albert and Gertje (Bolt) Schreuder on August 13, 1909, in Sioux Center. She served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1942 to 1945, and was stationed in England. She married Andrew Feikema on September 19, 1945, at Doon. They moved from the Doon area to Denver in 1961, and Mrs. Feikema worked as a registered nurse until retiring in 1974.

She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, reading, and growing flowers. She collected spoons and vases from various places in her travels. She was a member of Horizon Christian Reformed Church in Denver.

Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Trudy and Daniel Pfannenstiel of Westminister, Colorado, Carol and Peter Dykstra of Mesa, Arizona, Andrea and Donald Anderson of Englewood, Colorado, and Kathryn and James Jackson of Evergreen, Colorado; eight grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Gertrude Feikema, Johanna De Jong, Alys Jacobsma and Betty Feikema; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter (Alverna), two brothers (Cornie and Clarence) and a sister(Jen).

Congregational hymns sung at the funeral were “When Peace Like A River,” “Rock of Ages,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” and “Victory in Jesus.” Karen Lems was the organist.

Casket bearers were Daniel Pfannenstiel, Peter Dykstra, Donald Anderson, Seth Anderson, James Jackson and Jared Jackson.

Honorary bearers were Sara Pfannenstiel, Emily Dykstra, Amanda Dykstra, Trudy Lynn Dykstra, Rachael Anderson and Tenesha Jackson.
