From the Rock Valley Bee, November 3, 1905: Hull Happenings

Simon Kooistra, a young man of 22 years of age, right in the prime of his young manhood, was taken sick last Friday with slight symptoms of appendicitis. n Sunday he was taken much worse till Monday morning when he passed away at six o'clock. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Fortuin from the home and the Christian Reformed church. Mr. Kooistra was a fine young man, a Christian and much beloved by his home folks and companions.
