Douwe Feikema, a former Sioux Center resident, passed away at his home in Michigan, February 27, at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 10 days.

Mr. Feikema was born in the Netherlands on May 17, 1875, and at the age of 17 he came to America and settled in Sioux Center. In 1900 he was united in marriage to Hermina Aue and to this union eight children were born, of whom five sons survive. One son and two daughters preceded him in death.

In 1918 he, together with his family, moved to South Dakota and in 1939 they moved to Michigan where he resided with his family until his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Hermina; the following five sons: Frank of Sears, Michigan; Clarence, John and Harold of Rockford, Michigan; and Chris of Cedar Springs, Michigan; and 28 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one brother, John Feikema of Lismore, Minnesota; and a sister, Mrs. S. Gerritsma of Sioux Center, and a host of nieces and nephews
