The Alton community was saddened Friday by the unexpected death early that morning of Mrs. Robert Fennema, 22, at Sioux City Hospital, where she was hospitalized only a couple of days. She had not been well for several months and Nov. 6th gave birth to a baby girl who failed to survive birth. She was able to be about as usual until the attack which caused her death a few days later.

Sandra Lundgren was born Oct. 9, 1941 at Oyens, Iowa. She was married to Robert Fennema Oct. 6, 1962 and the couple made their home at Alton where the young woman made many friends. She graduated from Le Mars High School in 1960, attended Augsutana College, Sioux Falls and was a graduate of the Steward school of Hair Styling in Sioux City. She was a member of the Le Mars Assembly of Rainbow Girls and of the Eastern Star, also active in 4-H and church work.

Surviving are her husband, Robert of Alton; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Robert Lundgren, a brother, Dennis Lundgren; her paternal grandfather, Albert Lundgren, and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Claus Haack, all of Le Mars.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen, Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating. Burial was at Resthaven Memory Garden at Le Mars.

Pallbearers were Phillip Lubbers, David Scholten, Lee Oordt, Jack Renken, Elmer Bogh and Norman Weber
