Mrs. Persis A. Wilson Castle—wife of Otis N. Castle—was born in Onida county New York July eleventh 1836 and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Elias Smith at Rock Valley of paralysis November eleventh 1907 aged seventy one years and four months.

She was united in marriage in 1859 to Mr. Castle and this union was blessed with three sons and three daughters—one having died in infancy. All of her children — consisting of John and George of Inwood and Mrs. Jennie Scanlan and Mrs. Ada Smith of Rock Valley were present to pay the last tribute of respect to their departed mother. David Castle of Oregon City Oregon could not be present.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. W. Hakes pastor of the Methodist church as per her request at the home of her daughter Mrs. Elias Smith Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock after which her remains were taken to Inwood and laid to rest beside her husband.
