A message was received here Tuesday that Mr. L. Knook had passed away Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. Stuart of Chicago. L. Knook was born at Willemstad, Holland in 1840 and came to Pella in 1867. He moved to Orange City in 1870 and located on a farm near the depot, where he lived until 1907 when he moved to town. Mr. Knook was one of the prominent members of the First church and served as a deacon and elder for many years. The funeral will be held here Friday at the First church.

A telegram was received here last
Tuesday .stating that L. Knook had
passed away on Monday evening, at
the, home of • his children. Rev. and
Mrs. W. Stuart in Chicago. Mr.
Knook was born in the Netherlands
seventy-four years ago. In 1867 he
and his wife came to this country
and settled near Pella. Three years
later they oametook a homestead west of town.
Later they resided south of the depot.
About seven years ago they built a
new home which they occupied until
last year when they went to live in
Chicago. Deceased is survived by
his widow and only daughter, Mrs.
W. Stuart; The remains will be
brought here on Friday and funeral
services will be held at the First Reformed
church on Friday afternoon.
