Gerrit Van Den Berg, 84, of Sioux Center died Wed. Dec. 6 at Sioux Center Community Hospital Nursing Facility.

Memorial services were at 10:30 a.m. Sat. at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Arnold Punt officiating. Burial was at 10 a.m. Sat. in Memory Gardens in Sioux Center.

Van Den Berg was born August 9, 1916 in Rock Valley, the son of William G. and Anna (Juffer) Van Den Berg. He served in the U. S. Army with the 34 th Infantry Brigade "The Red Bulls Division" during World War II. He married Mary Overman on June 1, 1946 in Le Mars.

He was a member of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Sandy and Jerry Mars of Orange City; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Ted of Sioux Center, Clarence of Doon, and Alvin of Ireton.
