Died Saturday from Injuries

J. E. Campbell died Saturday in General Hospital, Minneapolis as the result of an injury when he was struck by a car Dec. first as he stepped from the curb. Mr. Campbell was a resident of Alton for the past few years, and left the last of August to visit at the home of his son, E. J. Campbell, former section foreman of the Northwestern Ry here. Funeral services were held in Minneaoplis and burial was at Dickens, near Spencer, beside the body of his first wife. Mrs. Campbell and children went to Dickens Monday morning for the final service, her brother, Guy Van Meveren of Hospers, taking the family over in his car. Mr. Campbell was 65 years of age and is survived by his widow and by nine children from his first marriage. Six years ago Mr. Campbell was married to Mrs. John Talsma of Alton.
