Mrs. Sip Sipma passed away at Rochester, Minnesota, on Friday, February 12, at six o’clock of the age of 49 years, and 17 days.

Catherine (Hollander) Sipma was born in Illinois. Her mother passed away when she was a small child. She was cared for by her step aunt and later assigned to an orphanage. At seven years of age, she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. John Hollander. She lived in Sioux Center for sometime and then later moved to Sheldon where they were on a farm.

She was united in marriage to Sip Sipma on September 2, 1914.

She leaves to mourn her, daughter Carol Faye, a stepdaughter, Mrs. William Roghair, and a son, Pvt. William Sipma, whom they adopted at the age of four.

She was a member of the American Reformed Church. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 16 at 1:15 at the home and at two o’clock at the church. The body was interred in the Orange City Cemetery.
