Miss Elvina Sas, age 77, of Hull, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2007, at the Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, December 26, at 2:00 P.M., at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. The Rev. Veryln Boone will officiate. Interment will follow at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation with the family present will be the hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Elvina Mildred was born on August 22, 1930, in Davenport. She was adopted by John and Jesse (Siemonsma) Sas and raised on a farm northeast of Hull. She attended a country school in Sheridan Township. At the age of 16, she moved into Hull with her parents.

On June 30, 1986, she became a resident of the Valley Manor in Rock Valley.

Miss Sas was a member of the First Reformed Church in Hull, where she participated in a women’s group. She enjoyed crocheting, making afghans, and watching “Little House on the Prairie”.

Survivors include her brother, John Sas, of Hull; a nephew and his wife, Dwight and Marla Sas, of Hull; a niece and her husband, Leanne and Verlyn Moen, of Marion; and five grand nephews and one grand niece, Michael, Kevin, and Angie Sas; and Andrew, Mark, and Kasey Moen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Gertrude Sas, and an infant nephew, Leland Sas.
