Wednesday, November 26, at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

Funeral service was Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Interment was at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

Mrs. Hofmeyer was born October 12, 1913, at Orange City, the daughter of Jacob and Lillian (Van der Maten) Docter. On January 10, 1934, she married (Gerrit) John H. Hofmeyer at Orange City. They farmed near Orange City until 1972, when they retired and moved into town. He died May 27, 1977, in Orange City. In later years, she lived at the Pioneer Memorial Home, the Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community and the Heritage House, all in Orange City.

She was a faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and working crossword puzzles. She also volunteered many days to the Orange City Christian School "Cash for Trash" project.

Survivors are two sons and their wives, Harlan and Marla Hofmeyer of Sioux Center and Justin and Dorothy Hofmeyer of Orange City; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Brent Mulder of Boyden; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Carrie (Jack M.) Jonker of Mesa, Arizona; and a brother-in-law, Art (Myrtle) Hofmeyer of Hull.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son; infant grandson; two brothers at an early age; two adult brothers, Andrew (Jannette and Bertha) Docter and Arthur (Genieve) Docter; and three sisters, Jennie (Bill) Hubers, Gertie (Abe) Van Driel and Arta (Jake) Vander Zwaag.

Memorials are being directed to the Orange City Christian School.
