Casmer Kraft
Casmer "Gas" Kraft died Sunday, May 30, at his residence following a lengthy battle with cancer. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden with the Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Kraft was born March 22, 1949, to Casper and Catherine (Holzer) Kraft at Mobridge, South Dakota. He attended grade school in Roscoe, South Dakota,.and McLaughlin, South Dakota. He graduated in 1967 from McLaughlin High School. He married Yvonne Adam on September 27, 1968. From 1969 to September of 1989, he was involved in the grocery store business. During that time he owned and operated two grocery stores as well as managed others. InSeptember 1989 he and his wife worked together as counselors in adolescent residential facilities, always working with 10 teenage girls. They have also been foster parents since 1988. In April of 1998 he went to work for Wells' Blue Bunny. He was employed there at the time of his death.

Survivors include his mother, Catherine Kraft of Mobridge; wife, Yvonne of Hawarden; two sons, Chad and fiance Robin McKee of Hawarden and Matthew and wife Melissa of Hawarden; daughter, Anne Kraft of Hawarden; three brothers and their spouses, Claude and Cindy of Aberdeen, South Dakota,, Edward and Brenda of Beulah, North Dakota, and Terry and Brenda of Mclntosh, South Dakota; two sisters, Lucille Schatzand husband Jerome of Flandreau, South Dakota, and Marlene Schlenker of Fargo, North Dakota; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Casper Kraft; father-in-law, Gustave Adam; and brother-in-law, Jerry Schlenker.
