The ashes of George Harmelink will be interred in Bethany Cemetery in Fairview, S.D. on July 13 at 1 p.m. A memorial service will follow at Bethany Lutheran Church.

George, 77, formerly of Fairview died Nov 16, in Lakewood, CO. his home for 27 years. He was born at the Iowa farm home of his parents, John and Jeannette (Zwanenburg) Harmelink. After graduating from the Rock Valley High School, he enlisted in the navy, serving in WWII as an RM1 in the Pacific Theater on an LST 245. He married Joan Vande Berg of Sioux Center on June 7, 1946.

George worked with his brother, Andrew in Acme Concrete Construction and later alone in Fairview and Denver. From 1969 to 1973 he was plant manager at Yankton Concrete Products Co. Later he earned full retirement working part-time in United Airlines Cargo.

Survivors include his wife; his daughter, Deborah (Mrs. Ron Stow) and Diane Marsala; 4 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dena Hooyer, Minnie Van Noort and Joe Young; a brother Vern.
