Nellie Wallenburg of Rock Valley, age 89, died Friday, November 19, 2004, at Valley Manor, Rock Valley. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Reverend Paul Bakker presiding. Interment will be prior to the service at Valley View Cemetery.

Nellie Wallenburg was born February 4, 1915, to Uilke and Tryntje (Terpstra) Feenstra near Inwood, IA. She attended country school. Nellie was united in marriage to John W. Wallenburg on December 28, 1937, in Inwood. Together they farmed southeast of Inwood for 31 years. They moved to Rock Valley in 1968 where Nellie was a housekeeper for Lorraine Roorda for 20 plus years. John died November 23, 1980. They were married for almost 44 years. She moved to Valley Manor April 15, 2003. Nellie was a member of First Christian Reformed Church where she was active in the Martha Circle. Nellie enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, embroidering, gardening, reading her bible and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors included: 2 sons: Gerald (Marian) of Inwood and John of Rock Valley; 2 daughters: Eunice (Gerrit) Teunissen of Rock Valley, Gertrude (Edward) De Jong of Littleton, CO; 20 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Thressa (John) De Haan of Grandville, MI.She was preceded in death by her husband John; infant sister; brother, Arnold Feenstra; 2 great-grandchildren; Chad Sandbulte and Faith Wallenburg.
