Funeral services for Herman Grunnagle, 69, of Mapleton, Iowa, were held in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church at that place last Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in Ireton Cemetery.

Mr. Grunnagle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grunnagle, was born in Germany March 13, 1883 and went to Ireton with his parents at the age of five. He resided in Sioux and Plymouth counties until 1919 when he moved to Mapleton. For 20 years he served on the police force at Mapleton and served as chief of police for some years.
