Cecelia Pick, 91, of Alton, IA passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004 at the Abbey of LeMars, LeMars, IA. Cecelia was born November 27, 1912 the daughter of Peter and Mary (Feller) Pletschette of rural Oyens, IA. Cecelia died after a brief illness. She was raised and educated in the Oyens area. She attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and Western Union College in LeMars IA and then taught at various rural schools in the Remsen area for 8years.

On Nov. 27,1940 she married Lawrence Pick at LeMars, IA. They made their home near Alton where they were engaged in farming. They retired on the farm in 1975 and moved into Alton in 1984. Lawrence died April 15,1990. She had been a resident of The Abbey of LeMars since April 2000.

Funeral Service was 11:OOA.M. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, IA Revs. Anthony Pick and John Vakulskas with Bishop Lawrence D. Soens and other priest of the diocese in attendance. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery at Alton, IA Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen, IA handled arrangements.

Survivors include five Sons, Rev. Anthony of Coon Rapids, IA, Leander of Avoca, MN, Philip and Walter both of Alton, Ray and his wife Janice of Albuquerque, NM; six Grandchildren; Brother-in-law, Leonard Bindner of Marcus, IA.

Cecelia was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, church Guild and St. Mary's Rosary Society. Casket Bearers were Peter Bindner, William and Leo Jochum, Adam, Andrew and Marvin Pick. Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; Son, Adam Peter in infancy; Brothers, Martin and Nick Pletschette; Sisters, Philomene Pletschette in infancy, Mrs. Mike (Clara) Loutsch, Mrs. Hubert (Mathilda) Jochum, Mrs. Art (Christine) Schuster, Mrs. Albert (Regina) Miller, Mrs. Ike (Agnes) Swain, Mrs. William (Helen) Bindner, Mrs. Leonard (Mildred) Bindner.

Visitation was after 2 P.M. Monday. There was a rosary at 3:00 P.M. by St. Mary's Rosary Society and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 P.M. all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.
