Agnes Boone, 90, Madison, S.D. formerly of George-Rock Rapids area died Thurs. Jan. 15, at Beverly Health Center in Madison, S.D.

Services were Sat. Jan. 17, at Roste Funeral Home in Rock Rapids. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids under the direction of Roste Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.

Agnes Boone, daughter of Case and Sue (Bus) Wagner, was born Jan. 8, 1914 on a farm near George. She grew up in the George-Rock Rapids area and attended country schools. She moved in 1935 to California, where she worked in restaurants and later owned her own. She married Bob Boone in 1950. They remained in CA until 1970 when they returned to the Midwest and settled in Fairview, S.D. She worked as a cook at Keystone Rehabilitation Center and a cook at Canton-Inwood Hospital. Mr. Boone died in 1990 and she moved to an apartment in Rock Rapids. She moved to Madison, S.D. in early 2001 to be near relatives.

She had a great sense of humor and always had a story to tell. She loved to fish and made many trips to the Iowa Great Lakes. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

Survivors include two sisters, Joan Gartamaker of Madison, S.D., and Marianne Winesburg of Madison, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Boone; a brother, Case Wagner Jr.; and a sister, Jane Zeutenhorst.
