Dennis J. Reisma of Sioux Center died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, February 25, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at New Life Reformed Church of Sioux Center with the
Rev. Carl Boersma officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

Reisma was born July 5, 1947, to Jerry and Helen (Geels) Reisma in Le Mars. He was raised in Sioux Center, where he attended Sioux Center Christian School. As a youngman, he served two years in the U.S. Army, most of which time he was stationed in Germany as a fuel tanker driver with a supply unit. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Sioux Center and began working for his family's business, Reisma's Ready Mix. He ran the company's Cat excavator for many years preparing building sites for homes and commercial buildings.

He married Marlene Bird in Orange City on July 2, 1976. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, fishing and being .with family and friends. He was a member of New Life -Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

Surviving are his five children and their spouses, Rick Baxter of Sioux City, Heather and Jon Roetman of Sioux Center, Lance Reisma of Sioux Center, Lisa and Tracy Jones of Washington, Indiana, and D.J. and Betsy Reisma of Orange City; 10 grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Bev and Steve Ausberger of Grand Rapids, Michigan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Angie Reisma and Jeffand Pam Reisma, all of Sioux Center; sister-in-law, Sylvia Livingston of South Sioux City, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, Jerry and Helen Reisma; and his brother, Ron Reisma.
