Funeral services for Everett Walter Hamilton, 73, who died Monday night at the Hawarden hospital following a lingering illness, will be held at the Associated church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, Rev. John C. Thorns officiating. This will be a Masonic funeral with Dale Lodge 456 in charge.
Interment will be at the Hawarden cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Mr. Hamilton was born May 12, 1884, near Ireton, the oldest son of Irving J. Hamilton and Cynthia Price Hamilton. He graduated in 1902 from Hawarden high school where he took normal training. In 1907 he graduated from Iowa State college at Ames.

He married Jessie Minert of Ames at Hamlin university in the Twin Cities on August 6, 1910. The couple lived at Ames where Mr. Hamilton was professor of agricultural engineering four years. He held the same position at the University of Idaho at Moscow for six years.

In 1917 they came to Hawarden and farmed north of town until April 1946 when they retired to their present home in Hawarden.

Mr. Hamilton was an active member of the Presbyterian church and served as an officer in different organizations. He was an elder emeritus.
As a member of Masonic Dale Lodge he was a past master and was a Masonic district lecturer for several years. He was secretary of the lodge a number of years, which position he held at the time of his death.

Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by a younger brother, James W. Hamilton, in 1940. He is survived by the widow, Jessie.
