Robbie Jon Brommer 41, died Sunday April 12, 2009 in Bellingham, WA. after a short battle with cancer.

Funeral service was Sat. at Sumas Christian Reformed Church. Burial was at Sumas Cemetery.

Brommer was born in Sioux Center on Feb. 2, 1968, to Lester and Marion Brommer. He graduated from Sioux Center High School and Northwestern College. He was employed with the city of Sumas.

He was an avid lover of all sports and participated in high school and college football, basketball, track and softball. He enjoyed coaching little league sports, and four-wheeling and fishing with his kids. He had a passion for youth and enjoyed working with and being a friend and mentor to them.

Survivors are his three children, Maria, James, and Nicolas, and their mother, Erin, all of Sumas; his parents, Lester and Marion Brommer of Sioux Center; his siblings, Leslie (Joyce) Brommer of Sioux Center, Rick (Sharon) Brommer of Rapid City, S.D. Mary Dell Brommer of Sioux Center, Darcy Helwig of Sioux Center, Mike (Kim) Brommer of Norfolk, NE. and Shelly (Gary) Sandbulte of Rock Valley; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bradley; and a niece.

Memorial donations are requested to Sumas Youth and Community Services.
