Beckoned to a Fairer World.
To The Bee there falls the sad duty of recording the death of Mrs. Thomas Berry, of this city. She had been in poor health for several years and this summer sought relief by a trip to Colorado. But the change of climate did not result as hoped and after a brief sojourn she and her husband returned home. Since then she had been constantly attended with the greatest care until Sunday evening [September 16] the spirit returned to its Creator and her earthly life was ended.

Mrs. Berry was born in Ireland 62 years ago last July, and came to Illinois when a girl. In 1859 she was married to Thomas Berry at Ottawa, Ill., and they lived in Kingston county Illinois, until thirteen years ago when they came to northwestern Iowa and settled on a farm near Rock Valley. Thirteen children were born to her of whom five are living: Mrs. Jas. Cain, of Flandreau, S.D., John Berry of Rock Valley, Richard Berry, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Miss Sadie Berry of Rock Valley, and Mrs. F. A. Abbott of Rock Rapids.

The funeral services were held yesterday from St. Mary's Catholic church, Rev. Father Phelan preaching an impressive sermon. The remains were taken in the afternoon to Streator, Ill., for interment.
