Charlotte E. Huitink Charlotte Eleanor Huitink, 84, of Orange City died Wednesday, October 5, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. A memorial service was Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Cecil Martens and the Rev. David Ter Beest officiating. Interment was at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

Mrs. Huitink was born March 8, 1921, in Orange City, the daughter of Jake and Marie (Reekers) Oolman. She was raised at Orange City. On April 6, 1945, she married Henry G. Huitink in Orange City. They lived at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and then farmed at Orange City for short times. Most of their married life, they farmed at Alton. In 1980, they moved into Orange City. He died on November 4, 1999, in Sioux City. In 2004, she became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she worked with the Blocks and Knots Quilters. She enjoyed sewing, growing flowers, bird watching, and crocheting afghans, which she often gave to members of her family.

Survivors include six children, Gary Huitink and his wife Mary Lou of Little Rock, Arkansas, the Rev. Roger Huitink and his wife Charlotte of De Motte, Indiana, the Rev. Don Huitink and his wife Karla of Wellsville, Kansas, Rachel, and her husband Tommy Jacks of Little Rock, Glenn Huitink of Springfield, Missouri, and Barbara Huygens of Sioux Center; 13 grandchildren;five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Reinders of Orange City. She was also preceded in by a son, Brian James; and two brothers Harold and Myron Oolman.
