John Julius Zevenbergen 71, of Hull, died August 25, at a Sioux City Hospital.

Services were held Tues. at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with burial in Hope Cemetery. Oollman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Zevenbergenn was born Nov. 19, 1929 in Hospers, the son of William Peter and Fanny (Hagens) Zevenbergen. He was raised in Northwest Iowa. He married Jacoba Kammerman on March 5, 1952 in Sioux Center. She died Jan. 5, 1964. He married Gertrude Kiers on Aug. 17, 1965, in Hull. The couple made their home in Hull, where he operated Zevenbergen Plumbing and Heating. He retired in 1998.

Survivors include his wife; three brothers and their wives, Marion and Arta Zevenbergen and Art and Betty Zevenbergen, all of Sioux Center, and Allen and Tylene Zevenbergen of Sioux City; a brother-in-law and his wife, Henry and Liz Kiers of Sheldon; several nieces and nephews.
