Tjerk J. De Vries, 83, passed away Wednesday morning, October 10 at the Orange City Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. De Vries was born April 24, 1879 in Menaldum, Friesland, The Netherlands and came to this country at the age of 26. He resided in the Orange City vicinity until the time of his death.

Survivors include the widow, Annie(nee DeVries) one son, John of Montivideo, Minnesota; three daughters: Mrs. Gerrit Te Slaa of Hull, Mrs. Ray Vander Wel of Orange City and Mrs. Edward Moss of Sioux Center; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the First Reformed Church of Orange City, Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Raymond Van Heukelom officiated
