Minnie J. Haage, 69, of Hawarden died Sunday, February 14, at her residence after a long illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, at American Lutheran Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Jalmer Eldal officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Born Minnie Vanderham on July 3, 1918. in Minot. North Dakota, she moved to Plymouth County and to the Akron and Chatsworth area with her parents. She married Elmer F, Haage November 15, 1939, at rural Akron. The couple lived in Akron and moved to Hawarden in 1954. He died January 6, 1975. She was a member of American Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Statema and Verla Harvey, both of Hawarden; three sons, Robert of Dixon, California, Dennis and Randy, both bf Hawarden; five sisters, Katie Kaelke of Bellgrade, Minnesota, Mary Place of Snohomish, Washington, Lena Weyen of Chatsworth, Anna Huebner of Akron and Rosie Huebner of Beresford, South Dakota; a brother, Bill of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
