Funeral services for Cornie De Ron, 46, of Boyden, were held Monday, November 10, at 1:30 P.M. in the United Presbyterian Church of Boyden. Pastor Daniel Myers officiated. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery, under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home. Mr. De Roon died Friday, November 7, at the Sheldon Community Memorial Hospital.

Born January 14, 1934, in Ireton, he was married to Wanda Schneider on June 6, 1958 in Hawarden. Mr. De Roon was the fire chief of the Boyden fire department, served on the Boyden police department, and was president of the Boyden Area Fire Board. He operated C & W. Upholstery Shop in Boyden.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Boyden; one daughter, Julie and son, Corwin, both of the home; his father, Case De Roon of Boyden; one brother, John of Moore, Oklahoma; and three sisters, Jennie (Mrs. Merlin Beermann) of Sheldon, Jo Anne (Mrs. Jerry Hazel) of Canton, Michigan, and Betty Ann De Roon of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
