HULL, Iowa | Laura Vershowske, 60, of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Hull, Iowa, died July 2, 2014 of heart failure.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.

Laura Gail Vershowske, 60, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in Oakhill, Florida.

She was born June 4, 1954, in Hull, Iowa to the late Lyle and Eileen (Koster) Stange and has been a resident of the area for 20 years moving here from Wyoming. Laura was a Sales Assistant for Florida Natural Growers and was of the Lutheran Faith.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Todd L. Vershowske; daughters, Tanya Vershowske of Lake Wales, Jennifer Hebel and husband Brandon of Lake Wales; son, Leigh Vershowske of Tampa; sisters, Virginia Linneman of Iowa, Meri Jo Stange of Texas; brother, Michael Stange of San Antonio, TX; 4 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 12 noon on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Heartland Community Church in Winter Haven. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time.

HULL, Iowa | Laura Stange Vershowske, 60, of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Hull, passed away on July 2, 2014, in Oakhill, Fla.

Memorial services were held on July 12, 2014, at Heartland Community Church in Winter Haven, Fla.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, northeast of Hull. The Rev. Aaron Deutsch will officiate. Visitation with the family will be the half hour before the service on Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Following the service, a brunch will be served for family and friends at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Laura Gail was born on June 4, 1954, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle and Eileen (Koster) Stange. She was raised on a farm northeast of Hull and attended the Boyden-Hull Public Schools. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. In 1970, the family moved to Sioux City, where she graduated from East High School in 1972.

She completed the accounting program at Western Iowa Tech Community College and worked in the office of a trucking company, both in Sioux City. She then moved to Bradenton, Fla., where she was employed by Meat Dispatch in Palmetto, Fla., for three years, after which she moved to Omaha, where she met Todd.

On April 12, 1981, she married Todd L. Vershowske. They owned/operated and were over-the-road truckers based out of Cheyenne, Wyo. As their family grew, they made their home in various locations, including Cresco, Iowa, West Allis, Wis., and Cheyenne. In 1994, they settled in Central Florida, later making Lake Wales their home, where Laura was a sales assistant for Florida Natural Growers.

She enjoyed bowling in earlier years and later, she loved taking care of her grandchildren and visiting ailing parents.

Survivors include her husband of more than 33 years; two daughters, Tanya Vershowske and Jennifer Hebel, both of Lake Wales; a son and his wife, Leigh and Jessica Vershowske of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, Aliyah, Makayla, Shaylah, and Glen; two sisters, Virginia Linneman of Hull, and Meri Jo Wood of Bermuda Dunes, Calif.; a brother and his wife, Michael and Rose Stange of San Antonio, Texas; two nephews; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Michael Linneman.
