A fatal heart ailment claimed the life of twenty-eight-year0old Gilmore Beernink of Sioux City last Friday, following a week’s critical illness in the hospital there.

Funeral services were held at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home and at the First Reformed Church Monday, September 4th, Rev. P.A. DeJong and Rev. C. Tellekson officiated. Interment took place in the local community cemetery.

Gilmore Beernink spent most of his young life in Sioux Center, where he was graduated from the local high school. He attended the National Business Institute in Sioux City and was employed at the Wilson Trailer Company as bookkeeper for the past year. He married the former Leona Den Hartog on July 30, 1946 and is survived by her and two sons, Terry and Leslie, and brothers and sisters surviving include Helen (Mrs. G.W. Hulstein) of Sioux Center, Alice of Sioux City, Andrew of Lemars, Harold of Maurice and Dorothy of Denver.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1940 and his mother in 1945. The family will remain in their Morningside residences at Sioux City for the present.
