Donald Smith, 37, of Parkville, MO was killed almost instantly Saturday, October 9, when the semi-trailer he was driving went out of control. The accident occurred between Audubon and Hamlin, Iowa.

A son of Mrs. Harry Smith of Hawarden, he was born September 17, 1917, at New Market, Iowa. Prior to going to Missouri to live, Mr. Smith had been employed at the state hospital at Clarinda.

Funeral services and burial were at Clarinda.

Survivors include the widow, a daughter, Priscilla, age 6, his mother, Mrs. Smith of Hawarden and a sister, Mrs. Emmer Lieske of Hawarden.
