Home to Her Rest.
Died: September 27, 1898, aged 28[?] years, at the home of her uncle, E. J. Minard, of this place, Mrs. H. Prose of Hitchcock, South Dakota.

The deceased came to Rock Valley about three weeks ago to visit friends and in the hope of receiving some benefit from the change. She had been in poor health for over two years. The remains were taken to her home where a lonely father, a sorrowing husband and three little ones to mourn the loss of a devoted daughter, faithful wife and a loving mother.

(This may be the wife of H. A. Prose, who is listed in the 1900 federal census as living in Altoona Township, Beadle County, SD (the same county as Hitchcock). He is age 38, widowed, a farmer, living with children Harry (11), Mary C. (10), and Rollin C. (5) and niece Flora E. Hughs (30).)
