Sioux Center News, August 22, 1935

Mr. Adolph Frederick Geselschaap, druggist in Orange City since 1887, passed away Sunday, Aug, 18, at his home in Orange City at the age of 76. Mr. Geselschaap has always been a healthy and active man until about six months ago when anemia began to weaken him. He worked at the store however, until the first of July.

Mr. Geselschaap came to America with his family when he was eighteen and has lived in Sioux County since. He went into the drug business for himself ten years later, and during the past 48 years had been active not only in his own store but in druggist organizations.

He married Miss Clara De Groot, also of Orange City in 1888, and they had five children. The children: Mrs. Lucy Van Reulder, Chandler, MN; Mrs. Ben Kamerman, Sioux Center; Wm. Geselschaap, Grinnell, IA; Tom and Florence Geselschaap, both of Orange City. They were all present at the funeral, which was held in the First Chr. Ref. Church of Orange City, Rev. Bronkema officiated.

He leaves to mourn his widow, five children and four grandchildren.
