From the Sioux County Bee, July 29, 1898:

Death of Mrs. Buckley.
Mrs. John Buckley, mother of Mrs. J. H. Lynch, died at Maurice last Saturday evening, aged seventy-one years. Rev. Father McCarty, professor of St. Joseph's seminary at Dubuque, preached an eloquent sermon at the funeral service Monday morning. The Bee joins with other friends in this vicinity in extending to Mrs. Lynch and other bereaved relatives heartfelt condolences.

This was Catherine Buckley, died 23 Jul 1898, buried in St. Mary's cemetery, Maurice, IA. The Sioux County Cemetery Index gives her as "wife of John," age 73. For further details on her family see her husband's obit, John Buckley (born abt. 1917 died 21 Dec 1906 at 86 years). Her maiden name could not be readily found.)
