Lane Schelling, 78, of Ireton died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 1984, in a Sioux Center hospital. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 25, in the Netherlands Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. A. M. Den Boer officiated. Burial was in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Schelling was born Oct. 30, 1905, at Sioux Center. He married Gertrude Bleyenberg Jan. 19, 1926, at Ireton. They made their home at Sioux Center and Ireton.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Emil (Henrietta) Jacobs of Ireton; four sons, Dick and Arnold, both of Sioux Center, Cornie L. of Hawarden and Robert of Orange City; four brothers, Rochus and John, both of Sioux Center, Ralph of Byron Center, MI, and Paul of Boyden; three sisters, Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Van Grootheest of Rock Valley, Mrs. Peter (Julia) Van Beek and Mrs. Gerrit (Ella Marie) Overeem, both of Sioux Center; 16 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
