Alma Vandemore, 91, of Hawarden, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1983, at the Hawarden Hospital Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Associated Church in Hawarden. The Rev. Fredrich Mellberg officiated. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jerry Emerson, Jim Sohichsen, Loren Keiser, Gary Witt, Larry Burnight and Elton Robertson.

Mrs. Vandemore, the former Alma "Eleanor" Warner, was born May 14, 1892, in Pender, NE. She lived in Hawarden with her husband, Bruce, until his death. After his death, she moved into the Burnight nursing home, where she lived for 15 years. Two sons preceded her in death.

Survivors include a brother, Layfe Warner of Mitchell, SD; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Numsen of Alcester, SD, and Mrs. Genevieve Olson, of California; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
