Mildred Louise Peters, 66, of Ireton died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1963, at her home.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton. The Rev. Paul Sieveking officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton. Dow Funeral Home, Ireton, was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Everett Hulshof, Howard Van Oort, Cornie Vanden Berg, Paul Kading, Peter Santema and Donald LockhorstMrs. Peters, the former Mildred Johnson was born June 11, 1915, in Ireton. She graduated from Ireton High School and married Walter Peters Sept. 1, 1936, in Ireton. He was postmaster there for 34 years and died Dec. 2, 1975. Mrs. Peters was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton and its Ladies' Aid. She was a Sunday School, teacher and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She also was active in the Lamplighters and the senior citizens organization at Ireton.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald of Sibley, David of Fort Dodge, Dennis of Hawarden, and Robert of Omaha, NE; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) Holm of Irving, TX; a sister, Mrs. Melvin (Ruth) Gearke of Le Mars; a brother, Raymond Johnson of Sioux City, and 14 grandchildren.
