Nellie L, Richter, 77, of Hawarden, former Sioux City resident, died Sunday, Nov. 6,1983, in a nursing home in Sioux City after a brief illness. Services were set for 11 a.m. Thursday,Nov. 10, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sioux City. The Rev. Harold V. Cooper officiating. Burial to in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Richter, the former Nellie L. Harper, was born May 23, 1906, in Sioux City. She married Theodore J. Richter April 3,1923, in Sioux City. She lived in the Sioux City area many years and for the last 15 years had lived in Hawarden, moving to Sioux City a short time ago. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Joseph L. of Parker, AZ, John E. of Alcester, SD, Robert F. of Sioux City andTheodore A. of Hacienda Heights, CA; one daughter, Mrs. Walter E. (Cecelia) Hood of Spokane, WA; two brothers, Edward of Seattle, WA, and Thomas of Sioux City; one sister, Amanda Henshaw of Spokane; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
