Robert Theodore (Ted) Finnie, 73, of Lakewood, CA, died May 11,1983, after a short illness. Finnie was a former longtime resident of Hawarden. He was born June 23, 1910, in North Dakota. He grew up in Hawarden and graduated. from high school here. He married Cecil McDonald and moved to Sioux City where they lived for a number of years.

The Finnie family returned to Hawarden where he operated a bowling alley before moving to California in theearly 1950's.

He is survived by his wife, Cecil; a son,Ted, Jr., of West Allis Wisc.; three daughters, Sondra Dorangrichia of South Milwaukee, Wise., Diane Schook of Lakewood, CA, and Shari Thompson of Reno, CA; five grandchildren; two sisters, Inez Ellis of Cedar Rapids, and Harriet Smith of Merced, CA. He is missed and mourned by relatives and many friends.
