R. D. Ferguson, 71, of Hawarden died Saturday, July 16,1983, at a Sioux City hospital after a king illness. Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. The Rev. Marion Bloodworth officiated. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thunday at Laurens Cemetery at Laurens.

Pallbearen were Charles Coldren, Glen Newell, Robert Dallenbach, Harlan Ferguson, Max Buckley, and Scott Coldren.

Mr. Ferguson was born on June 11, 1912, at Laurens. He married Helen F. Kemner there on May 23, 1964. They moved to Hawarden from Arnolds Park in July of 1962. He was a member of United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Fore-Most Inc. of Hawarden from 1968 until his retirement in 1979.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary of New York, NY; a daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Lois) McKinney of Cutten, CA; four grandchildren; two brothers,
