Mrs. Elmer De Vries, 70, of Orange City, died Monday, September 28, in a Sioux City hospital of sudden illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Thursday in the First Reformed Church at Orange City. The Rev. Cecil Martens officiated. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Mrs. Ee Vries, the former Dena J. Kleinhesselink was born December 26, 1910, at Sheldon and was a lifelong Orange City area resident.

Dena was married July 12, 1935, to Elmer De Vries, at Orange City. The couple farmed in the Orange City area. She was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include the widower, Elmer; two sons, Darwin E. of Kingsley and Glenn R. of Alton; two daughters, Mrs. Cleo (Joyce) Te Slaa and Mrs. Peter D. (Gladys) Jeltema, both of Orange City; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Joe W. of Orange City; four sisters, Mrs. Bernie (Henrietta) Van’t Hof of Sioux Center, Mrs. Henry P. (Elvina) Vander Zwaag. Mrs. Winnie Stander, and Mrs. Russ (Mildred) Van Gorp, all of Orange City
