Mrs. Jennie Rozeboom, age 97, of Orange City, died Sunday, June 10 at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars.

Jennie was born April 10, 1893 at Sioux Center, the daughter of Lammert Rens and Ida Gerritsen Rens. As a child, she moved with her family to the Newkirk area.

On August 20, 1912, she married Gerrit J. Rozeboom at Newkirk. They farmed at Sioux Center until 1944 when they moved to Orange City.

In November of 1989 they both became residents of Brentwood Center.

Mrs. Rozeboom was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City. In earlier years, she had been active in the ladies organizations of the church, as well as Northwestern College Womens Auxiliary and the Federated Womens Club.

Survivors include her husband of over 77 years; a son John and his wife Gretchen of Sand Lake, Michigan; two daughters, Margaret and her husband Julius Hop of Le Mars, and Connie and her husband Gerald Korver of Orange City; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister Kate Bloemendaal and a brother Gerrit L. Rens, both of Orange City.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Tim, Cornie, Lambert and Bert Rens; and a sister Lizzie Van Corler.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 13, at the First Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Henry Poppen officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
