Rock Valley Register of May 8, 1896

Mrs. Anna McKeller Klinger, beloved wife of John Klinger fell asleep on Wednesday May 6, aged 28 years. Born in Elgin Ill, she came here ten years ago with the family of her father, Peter McKeller, and six years ago was untied in marriage to John Klinger. The deceased was an earnest and consistent member of the United Presbyterian Church. She was strong and womanly character, of firm principle, a sincere Christian, loving week, but she fully realized that the end was near hours before her death and awaited the last call with that calm and peaceful resignation which is know only to the true children of God.

To the sorrowing relatives gathered about the dying woman’s bedside her sublime faith was indeed a revelation of the power of the Divine One to comfort and assurance to the sorrows and grief of his beloved followers. The funeral was held from the U.P. church Thursday afternoon, the services being conducted by the Rev. Mr. McLaughin who preached a most beautiful and appropriate sermon, after which all that was mortal of our beloved sister was laid to rest. To the bereaved and sorrowing husband the name friends extend their heartfelt sympathy.

(Sioux County Herald of May 20, 1896 Mr. and Mrs. Fred McKeller arrived here last Saturday from Rudyard Mich. They came to attend the funeral of their sister Mrs. John Klinger but were too late. They returned on Tuesday. John Klinger son of Frong Klinger and Solome Steens, married 25 Dec 1882 Rock Valley IA to Annie McKeller born abt 1867 daughter of Peter Mc Keller and Isabelle McArthur.)
