Letha Geraldine De Young, 74, of Sioux Center died Tuesday, December 5, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were Monday at l l a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church, Sioux Center, with the Rev.John Witvliet officiating. Burial wasin Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. De Young was born to Peterand Bessie (Weeda) Steensma on January 5, 1926, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She graduated from Westside Christian Grade School, George A. Davis Vocational & Technical High School and Bloggett School of Nursing. She married Marvin De Young on October 7, 1948, in Grand Rapids. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and the Ruth Circle. She belonged to several prolife groups and was a member of the Sioux County American Family-Association. She was interested in her family and was an avid lover of God's creation.

Survivors include her husband of52 years; two sons, Gregg and Cathy of Cairo, Egypt, and Paul and Donna of West Palm Springs, Florida; four daughters, Karen and David Beilfuss of Pequannock, New Jersey ,Florence and Kirby Hedden of Hawarden, Esther and Richard Thompson of Sergeant Bluff and Lois Finney of Fountain Valley, California;15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Helene Steensma of Grand Rapids; and three brothers, Sidney, Leonard and Peter, all of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kathy; and a granddaughter
